Congratulations Michael! Very cool to win the award!

BTW gave a ride in the 914 to a couple friends (a married couple) earlier this last week. The one friend had tried to buy a 914 in 1970, but was put on a wait list because there were none available. She waited 9 months before she gave up and bought a different car. She's now in her 80's. Made the day for all of us.

Thanks guys. I am always so grateful to be a part of this club and be able to meet and talk with owners from all over. The love these cars have earned over the decades is inspiring.

At the show yesterday, one owner, who has had their 914 since '84, said he just purchased a Cayman S and will be selling his 914. It is a Bahia Red '74 2.0 in great condition and almost all stock. He says that is going to be a tough day as he really loves the 914. I mentioned listing it on 914World, of course. He said he is going to list it on BAT and see what happens. It should do well because it got eye balls on it all day due to its condition. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

I went for a 3 hour drive down the coast and got a new belt since I don't know how old the current one is and have a chirp.

Last weekend at St Gouéno Masters hillclimb in Brittany, France. Setting up camp with my Porsche (and Ford!) buddies... Left to right are my 914, a Ford Escort Mk2 rally car with Cosworth BDG twin-cam engine, factory-built 997 GT3RS Cup race car (now road registered...), factory-built Cayman GT4RS Clubsport race car, also road registered and which recently competed in the Carrera Panamericana, and finally a rally-prepped 3.2 Carrera.

QUOTE(Cairo94507 @ Jun 7 2026, 06:59 PM) *

My brother and I attended the Sacramento PCA Concours at Sacramento Porsche today. I would guess 75-100 cars attended. I was blown away when the judges came to my car, 5 of them, and began going over everything. I thought it was just a exterior/interior...oh well. They've the engine compartment the eyeball and found a light spot of grease on an engine tin. Then I had items in my door pocket and glove box -that is a no-no. Overall I did OK and learned a lot. My brother and I think we will take the Judging class so I can learn more and also volunteer to be a judge in the future. MY brother has a very good eye for detail and I know he will be great at it.

@Cairo94507

Michael,

I started out the same way last year, as a learning experience in the prep for the concours, i missed a lot first time missed a few thenext time, and upped my game, figured out what needed to be fixed or taken care of etc. our pca chapter does 2 types or classes where we do a touring class that gets all the compartments inspected and graded, and the other mainly just the interior and exterior not the trunks or engine comparthemt. I have been competing in the full touring class so it all gets inspected.
our most recent one 2 weeks ago, the second of the year was sponserd by Ellis Porsche Atlanta, we had 5 914's but about 50 cars. I spent a lot of time this time really prepping i had been at a concours at Atlanta motoring festival just a few weeks before so it was very clean, well I was the first 914 to have won the overall high score!!! I took home first prize over many experienced presenters and beautiful cars. Its fun and even more fun to win a nice prize and trophy. YOur car no doubt is a show stopper for fit and finish, just make sure you clean every crack and crevis! . No items in the console door pocket or glove box. I made that mistake the first time too!

Congratulations

Phil

Thank you very much guys; I appreciate the comments and encouragement. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pray.gif) I entered Werks Reunion for judging on August 14th...we shall see how we do. It is about 250 miles - of course we will drive my car, so that means some cleaning when we arrive. Looking forward to a fun day. It should be Greg, HB, Erik,Todd, me, James and hopefully a few more who have hopefully entered their beautiful cars. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

I got the 4 buttons on the diffuser too go click. Nothing is tight yet as I need to rivet on the end covers and I am sure that it will make it not fit so nicely.

Thanks guys!! since my car was finished about 6 years ago, with 21k miles on the odometer since then, i have some small things here and there to clean up, with the win i'm ordering some new trim bits and new tires and an alignment from Ellis Porsche!!

I just replace my seat bases and runners with new zinc plated and powdercoated thanks to Bruce Stone.
