Here is another shot of the American Racing allow "le Mans" wheel. They came w or w/o polished spokes. Mine are painted gold on the inside face. They take mag seat lugs (hard to find). Nice Kayak carrier! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

I am currently running JW 3-piece wheels a bit wider than Rivaria or Pedrinis ( at least I think they are called "JW")
nice basket-weave, sweet wheels, I bought from K Trekor a few years ago. (smile wavey) ![]() |

the steelies with plain nipple caps on the orange car in post #40 look so right!! the wheels (similar to rivs) pictured in post#50 look to be formula vees. if so they have the correct, prob no rub with wider tires, backspacing.

lenny, go check out the cip1.com web site. look for wheels with 4.5ish inch backspacing on a 5.5 inch wheel that strikes your fancy.

I've been offered some of these wheels. Does anyone know more about them?? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/i152.photobucket.com-13736-1382719628.1.jpg) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/i152.photobucket.com-13736-1382719628.2.jpg) These wheels where manufactured by a Brazilian company named Mangal. They are high quality and were offered as dealer options for 914's in the 70's. Think they stopped making them in the late '70's, as alloy wheels were becoming more mainstream. A Chinese company remade them in the 90's, with horrible results (BIG surprise there). I've had my Brazilian wheels for 40 years and love them. There are probably some still available, but stay away from that Chinese crap (and they are CRAP!). Attached image(s) ![]() |
