Not enough interest in TX. Organize or quit yer bitchin (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
Ohio will happen, I hope there will be more there as there is only 3 so far off the list. I may do 915s at this one depending on the cost for the special tools I no longer have and need to replace. |

If a spacious garage and a 26 gallon compressor are all you need, it could be held at my place. If you require more than that, I can try to help with planning. PM me if you would like help organizing this. Thanks, Ken |

I know its a guess, but if your tranny seems fine but is oily and you just want to go through it for peace of mind what is the typical cost for parts and participation? So is this a everyone rebuild their trans side by side type of thing? Or are we watching you rebuild one then go home and do it in our garage? Thanks That would not be too bad of a road trip

If you click on the links below in my signature you will see the details for the last several clinics that I did. You only need to bring regular tools and I supply the rest. If you just want it torn apart and diagnosed that doesnt cost you anything. The way the clinic is set up is that you do the work and I supervise. So far, everyone has enjoyed these very much with no complaints (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

OK, I just spoke with one of the off line folks (still not sure what their affiliation is) and here is the latest:
They are thinking of having it at a nice garage in Dayton, OH, http://www.thegaraj.com/ So far they seem to be about 5 strong. If you want to do it at your place (Ken or Todd) post up some smutty pics of what you have to offer (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) If it is easier/better than the above place they may be interested. However, the person I talked to, Dave, has connections to a hotel near the garage and believes he can get us good rates. Current dates that they are considering are Feb 19-21, but I told them that all we need is the weekend and that such will make it easier for folks to get time off to come (not work days for most). |

My trans. is O.K. , but I 'll come and observe. Eather place Cinci. or Dayton Dayton is a shorter drive. Just set the time and place. Dave (IMG:style_emoticons/default/slap.gif) |

Umm, the garaj is just a little nicer than my place. Just a little. Besides, I loaned my C-GT and my 959 out to the in-laws while they are having their Camrys repaired, so we can look at John's instead. |

Ya, but if we go to the Garaj we have to behave, if we go to your house we dont (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Probably not entirely true. John Dixon is a cool dude and loves all things and peoples Porsche. My wife, on the other hand, becomes somewhat cranky when beer drinking, greasy folk trudge over our living room carpet to take a leak. However, I haven't REALLY pissed her off for a few months, so I am about due. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/stirthepot.gif) |

I like how you think outside of the box (or house). My HOA covenant says that I can't paint my front door a different color without approval, but it doesn't say a damned thing about guests relieving themselves indescriminately about my property. Problem solved! As for knowing the owner, I have met him on a couple of occasions, but I don't really know him. What I do know is that he is a self-made guy, with an incredible collection of Porsches and VWs. He does a great deal for charity, specifically the Ronald McDonald house, and most if not all of the proceeds that are generated from the Garaj go to that fund. He is a recent cancer survivor, but he does not care for that label. The antithesis of pretentious, and judging from the times I have been around him, most of the joy he obtains from his collection is derived from observing the people who are lucky enough to appreciate it firsthand. If this works out, it will be a very enjoyable clinic for anyone who attends. The Garaj is essentially a Porsche museum, and a fine one at that. |
