Christmas was OK but a lot disjointed. Had Christmas with the oldest daughter and grandkids on the 18th, Christmas with the son and his fiance on the 23rd, and Christmas with the other daughter and other grandkid today.

They all must have known that I would come down with the cold from hell on Christmas.

This IS my Christmas and Birthday present. Only a coupla more days til B-day.

Dang, still gotta jack up the rustbucket and the good car and get the trannys out.

I'm hoping that the 70k tranny in the rustbucket is the better of the two. The other one in the rust free car has problems. Mebbe I should do a pictoral of what a midwest car can look like after 57k worth of miles in the first three years followed by 13k worth of miles since then. I'm hoping the first three years include a lot of highway miles. A lot of rust appears to have developed during storage after driving the car in a salty winter or two.

I'm off to Kentucky on Sunday for work for 3 months, however Dayton is now only a 4 hour drive, so I may be in as a spectator if I can get all settled into my apartment in time.

It looks like I will be attending. I plan to just help Mike out as much as I can and observe. I will be bringing some extra transmission related tools with me as well.

Jeff, I am in Durham, NC and was planning on driving up by myself, but am looking to save some money. So I am open to carpooling, splitting gas and maybe even splitting a room if you are interested? I was planning on taking Friday off and making that a travel day.

Somehow I have lost track of this thread and didn't find it until today. To answer Dr Evil's question from Dec 3, yes I plan on attending but will only be a spectator/moral supporter.

Jeff,
I know Richard, he wont murder you and leave your body at a rest stop. Most rest stops in VA are closed anyway, no? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif)

I will be bringing two trannies (insert joke here). If the Evil One is OK with it, spectators can work on my second, as long as they micro-polish each and every part with their own toothbrushes, and provide me with a 500k mile warranty on the finished transmission.
