I actually was asked to take over making the ashtray cup holders I have a commercial grade 3D printer and can easily make them. I had enough other goodies going on that I had not perused them. I just need to double check to make sure I have the specific permission to do so, but he did forward the files to me.
As far as a delete, I don’t get it. When it’s closed it’s not that noticeable. |

Been a few years since I owned a 914, but I recall having issues with my fresh air fan control and I was able to access the control board and clean it by removing the ashtray from the dash and sticking my hand in there.
That would be one reason to leave the ashtray in place. Just a thought (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) |

Does anyone make a dash topper or replacement dash with ashtray delete? I just printed one of the ashtrays in question. I have also completely re-drawn this in CAD so I can add/delete features. For instance, this particular design requires a particular phone holder that has 4 prongs. My phone holder only uses a single prong hook design to go over a single vent fin. So I have added that to the design. I am open to any other ideas so this can work will many kinds of phone holders. or even add a cup holder in place of the ash tray. Anyway, here are a couple pics of the print I made. They are a bit rough as it was the very first try. The second one looks a lot better. If anyone wants one of these printed, I can print them for $50 + shipping. Just let me know. Attached thumbnail(s) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Wasn't there someone that made a nifty cupholder or cellphone holder out of an ashtray? Seems to me I saw this at one time, somewhere Here is a cup holder that was made by a member here (bandjoey). It works great. The metal edge holds fast food cups so well that it will not even budge when burning the back roads. Photo has a stainless steel cup which is not ideal but what I had at home while sheltering to demonstrate. When the holder is closed you can barely see the modification. My dash also has a dash cap installed. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Just because you get a free copy of a program doesn't mean you can print and sell. So, do you have a $20K 3D printer Mark? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) The program is in the public domain now, what you’d be paying for is the Printer and material you don’t have. |

Is it not fucking common knowledge know? Well, tru Craig at 914camp.com You know they can deliver those meds straight to your house, don't you? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) Yes they do,but in this instance I don't think normal meds would work, rather special case this one (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) . |
