QUOTE(SirAndy @ Jan 26 2007, 05:50 PM) *

james, quick question:

when will this be available?

(might have missed this reading through this thread)

i'm asking because i still need to make a custom shift rod for my /6 conversion and if yours is available soon, i'd rather buy a complete assembly from you ...

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif) Andy

I have the custom parts for my first small batch of 25, it's mainly a matter of putting together installation instructions and fine tuning the manufacturing process.

I'm planning to have these on my web page for general ordering by the middle of February.

Andy, consider your place in line reserved. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Does it bolt to the firewall with Riv-Nuts or did you manage to get a nut into the center tunnel?

Riv-nuts would make it easy for those that have the tools, but the kit is designed to have the nuts installed in the tunnel. I can do it without a helper but most people would not be able to. With someone holding the bolts on the outside it is a pain but do-able. This will be the most difficult part of the installation.

Can anybody weigh in here with a -6. Will I need a straight rod? Slightly bent?

I have a 72 914 with a 215 V8 in it...the shift rod does not appear modified. So do you think this item could be used on a V8 ?

I know thats asking alot..but this maybe the answer to my dream uasing this and a rennshifter..

what kind of time and major parts removal is involved (roughly) for your average weekender mechanic? do you sell both linkage and shifter as one kit?
it really l@@ks & sounds like a real upgrade (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumb3d.gif)
