I've got a Liestritz made sport muffler. I bought it used from a guy so I don't know who or how it was made. It just says Liestritz on the can. I bought it because I've heard other sports and I liked the volume and the sound. The one I got is LOUD. I mean 90% the noise of straights loud. I replaced it with a Bursch because I drive my 914 to work April-November and I leave at 6:30am. I'm bit surprised non of my neighbors ever said anything during the 4 months I ran the sport. The Bursch is silent by comparison eventhough it now has about 5k miles on it. I know Bursches have the rap of getting louder as they get older. All my 4 cyl bursches did too. If I didn't have to worry about neighbors killing me and I wasn't going to drive the car on trips over an hour or two on a regular basis I might have left it on. I'm keeping it just because I think it sounds great.

FWIW Elephant Racing (Chuck Moreland) carries the Dansk products. I'm not sure how is pricing compares, but he is a great guy to deal with.

i believe that could be a 6-cyl Bursch -- been a long time since i've seen one.

they make a couple more HP over a VERY narrow rpm range up high and lose bigtime everywhere else.
