Wow. Great start! I've done a little work in sketch up and know how time consuming it can be. What a fun project.

Wow. Great start! I've done a little work in sketch up and know how time consuming it can be. What a fun project. This software is excellent for basic architecture, but it's not the best tool to draw uneven lines and shapes... That front fender is a nightmare... When doing this job you realise that despite the "boxy" shape the 914 is full of subtle curves and is a real achievement in car design. |

Has anybody completed a 3d model of the car? I've done some 3d imaging in the past, perhaps I could take a model and produce some cool photos.

care to give a quick tutorial on using the background images as reference for drawing in sketchup? I've played a little with this in 3dsmax, but is has been awhile.

...always wanted to learn sketchup. Could I get a copy? See links posted above. --- I'm drawing our resort buildings with Sketchup to get them into Google Earth. It would be awesome if Google would accept a submission of that 914 into Earth!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Place it on your street, on race tracks. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Could make for a fun virtual scavenger hunt. |
