Rear brake pads for /6 - same as /4? Options

I need some rear pads for my /6. Are they the same as the /4? I was having a little trouble figuring that out on AA and Pelican sites, though I suspect they are the same.

Should be the same, front and rear, at least they are on my stock 6.

-6 and -4 are DIFFERENT size pads. Yes, you can use -6 front pads BUT you will have to drill out one hole larger for the larger rear pin.

Almost all pads need to have the holes drilled out by now. Most companies don't make 914 4 or 6 rear pads anymore (with the larger holes on one side)

914-6 rear pads are the same as the following pads:

Early 914-4 Fronts
Early 911 Fronts (with M-Calipers through 76)
Early 911 Rears (with rear M-Calipers through 83)

These pads are as common as the calipers they came in so they should be a dime a dozen. Most european sedans had M-Calipers on them at one time or another so they should be easy to find.

914-4 and 914-6 rear calipers are very different. While most wouldn't notice this in a picture you can tell by a few visual clues and the following:

* Pistons - 33mm for the 914-4 caliper and 38mm for the 914-6 (same as most 911 rear pistons)
* Pads - Smaller AP30 pad for the 914-4 (same as very early 911's and 912's) and AP31 for the 914-6 (again, same as most 911's through 1983)
* Larger overall bodies. The nose section of a 914-6 caliper is the same as the 911 rear M-Caliper.
* No casting ridge on the inner caliper 1/2 spine. 914-6 calipers have a smooth spine on the back 1/2 of the caliper. 914-4 calipers have a raised ridge along the spine of the inner 1/2.

I realize that's probably TMI but theres probably a lot of people that would like to know the differences between the two calipers.
