Well, we're still getting some ran now and then, but this is about as nice as it gets out here in MO (no A/C required yet). Matt (ninefourteener) and I were discussing the possibility of getting another St. Louis area run going, and are needing some input as to the when and where. I suggested that we meet somewhere around the I-270/ Hwy. 21 (Lemay Ferry) interchange, and cruise down to Elephant Rock State Park. Lots of curvie roads getting there, plus we have some locals (eresener, flatout) to show us some more (maybe even some cool swimmin' holes if it's hot that day (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif) ). I was thinking about Sat. June 26th, but hey... let's hear what you guys would like to do. I don't particularly care where we go, as long as it requires (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

Hey,that sounds good.Any weekend after this one(Tweeks) is ok.Elephant Rocks is really nice, and Johnson Shut-ins is about 15 miles from the rocks and the road to that is a GREAT Porsche road. You can also swim at the shut-ins.

Loooonnng time since I've been to Johnson shut-ins, very cool place! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif) Little bit of a walk back to the 'hole', but hey, good chance to stretch the legs after all of the driving.

Um..... so long as we're talking the south County area.. off of 270.....

Um..... Hooters?? Isn't that the Tesson Ferry Exit?

Tell the wives and girlfriends to suck it up... so long as it's not a Friday or Saturday night, I'll bring my 8 year old daughter there.. it's not a big deal at all.

Just a thought though.. I really don't care.

I'll be in Dayton on the 18th through the 22nd.. but other than that.. I'm good... name the date!!!

OOps...Tesson Ferry is hwy 21, not Lemay Ferry (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) . The Hooters you speak of is on 7517 S. Lindbergh Blvd , not far at all from the Tesson Ferry/I-270 interchange. I have no problem with that, in fact they do have the best chicken wings around (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif)

If you SE MO people would like to meet up here (hooters or where ever), we could caravan down to "your neck of the woods"...hey, I'm easy....STL, you in?

Okay, the Tweeks and WWC events are over...(and I couldn't make it to either (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) ) So how about something local? The Elephant Rocks run was just a suggestion, but I'm game for a run anywhere...any takers?

Kevin,

You missed a good show at Tweeks yesterday. Plenty of Porsches, including about 15 to 18 914s. Met several of the guys from the group, Seanery, Doug Leggings, Mark Bland (ENGMAN) and Brad Mayeur was there also. Drug my wife along with me, took her car if case I was able to find some good deals.

I'm open for a local road trip, (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) depending on how soon something is planned. I need to replace my rear shocks and springs soon. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smash.gif) I'm starting to feel more and more bumps in the road. Tell me more about Elephant Rocks. Have no idea where or what it is.

I'm up for another road trip!
The Funfest was great (sunscreen next time (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) )!

Haven't spent much time on this list (or any other) in the last year or so, alot of the old names still here. I'm pretty much a lurker, some will remember me from SW Oklahoma. AF moved me to the Saint Louis area Fall/03'.

Looks like the club has came a long way since I was gone, where do I get one of those 914 Club hats?

Elephant Rocks State Park is a Granite formation about an hour or so south of St. Louis. It's a nice ride down Hwy 21, but you can get there using I-55 south to Farmington if you prefer a quicker route. All of the cobble stone on the St. Louis landing, levee and the base of the Eads Bridge was quarried from there back in the late 1800's, and the stone mason's left behind graffitti (names, dates, etc.), pretty neat. They've got a little nature trail that runs through the park...very enjoyable/educational stroll. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Not far from Elephant Rocks is Johnson Shut-ins State Park and Taum Sauk State Park. Taum Sauk Mountain is the highest point in Missouri, and a nice curvie drive, and Johnson Shut-ins is another granite formation that the Black River runs through creating natural waterslides (very cool (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)) that dump into a deep pool (also very cool (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) ), bring trunks and a towel (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) .

The best part is that to get to any of these places requires you to drive on some of the squirreliest roads in MO. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/MDB2.gif)

Yep,
I'm at Scott AFB, I chased Matt down one day a few weeks ago and we took the teeners to lunch.

The 26th should work for me!

Hi Dave,

I met you and your son Saturday at the Funfest. We talked about your car and you mentioned seeing Matt's green 914 at Scott.

Welcome to the club!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wavey.gif)

Gary,

I remember us talking. Do you know who the guy is with the orange 916-6?
He said he's from STL but doesn't use the internet much and might be up for a local fun run.

It was a good teener showing at the funfest wasn't it?
(Matt, hope you had fun at six flags! Just kiding dude kids are just a hair more important than cars)

Gary, get the shocks in or suffer the bumps one more outing.

I did the little parade deal at the funfest behind the brown/copper chrome empi wheeled 914. We both wanted to go much faster (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) but it was for fun.

My son and I were the only teener folks at the "Lemans" movie showing.
I know that cause we were the only ones cheering every time Steve McQueen passed little #40 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_flagge24.gif) !

I've signed my 13 year old up for the 26th, afraid to tell his mom, Hooters is the lunch spot!

That's two!

How about it Gary, Matt, Ed and Shelby? (I think that covers it?)
