I have a strange sound coming from what apears to be the front end. Once i get rolling it sounds like a mild rubbing "hum" or the sound a snow tire would make. The front tow is out [I believe] evident from the insides of my tires wearing out. I do not detect any pull and it goes strait down the road. Could this be from worn bearings [they seam tight when I checked them off the ground] or could this be CV Joint noise transfering thru the car?

Peter,
Thats the sound of your wallet being turn open. Seriously double check your ball joints for play. Some other things to check are the wheel bearings (can't hurt to check them twice), struts, make sure your wheels aren't rubbing.

Good luck!

does the sound change with load on the suspension?
worse in certain turns?
do some slow turns and listen, if so, wheel bearing is telling you it wants to retire.
replace soon as it'll freeze up when it finally fails, which can get ugly.
