So what is the size of the nut, on the tranny end, holding the wedge on?
I had two nuts "locked" together that came undone the other day, so I went looking for a nyloc nut instead, but couldn't find the correct size. |

Don't know the particulars of it, offhand, but it's 11 mm, and you can get it in a nyloc from Lowe's hardware store's metric nut section.

Are you asking thread size. I think it is 7mmx1mm pitch, 11mm nut on mine. I hope I am right. Mark

I'll check Lowes again.
7mm x 1.0 sounds about right, couldn't find that size at my primary stops. The 8mm was to big, 6mm was to small. So thought it might be std. and not metric. The existing nut fit on a 1/4"-28 bolt, but it was a little loose, and the nut ended up not fitting at all on the cable. Thanks |

M7 is correct and they use 11mm wrenches. Make sure to use TWO nuts jammed together as a single nyloc type will slip loose due to the heat and vibration under there.

Just use two 7mm nuts like the factory used as the single nylock with fall off. Ask me how I know that one..... Geoff |

Last time I needed the nuts for this I got them from my local KTM motorcycle dealer. Yes locking the nuts together will not come out of adjustment until the cable dies. Thank you for bringing that up John. Thanks Mark

Strangely enough, I found my M7's at my local auto parts store. Detroit is about the only car supplier NOT using metric these days.
