If you are following my fog light question, you can see I'm trying to figure out how the Mahles on my 914 are supposed to be finished. Are they aluminum and sand blasted? Painted? Any guidance this talented and knowledgeable group can provide would be appreciated. I'm even willing to drive that bad boy thousands of miles to 1 914 World outing just to say...thanks! Oh and maybe enjoy some spiritis fermenti with all of those people whose posts I read daily.

Wurth's Silver Lacquer paint .... two rattle cans will do a set of 5. I've done a set of 4 with one can painting front side only. I media blasted them (glass bead) and then painted them.

Are the insides/back left unfinished? The Wurth silver seems to have a suttle flake/metalic no?

Since I used only one can, the backsides are unfinished.

On my original Mahles, they're finished with a nice coating of rust.

On catalogue pictures the lugs are about the same color as the rim. I think this is anodized finish.
