Hello,
Cracked Heat Exchanger. Broken Heart. Anyone have info on a replacement set of Headers (I only drive in the summer) or where to locate new Exchangers? i.e. success rate, vendors, installation difficulty. Thanx Tony |

second to last pic: are those for a 912E? seems like you could use those and then dual inline delta flow flowmasters...and dual exhausts (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)

I run the Euro Race headers (looks like the triad above -- are they the same?). i like em. stub tubes for easy installation. $600+ new.

also, don't forget to check out the vendors forum here on the BBS, there is also European Racing Headers available
you really need to decide, do you want headers or heat exchangers? for heat exhangers that are a direct bolt-on, your options are: used or new stainless steel units (sold by the normal suspects, I believe HPH has them in stock right now) for headers, they are a bolt-on item as well (the best units use the seperate stub pipes such as the Tangerine and Eurorace and Triad.)....make sure you get the correct muffler since the factory unit will not work.... prices: $50 to $300+ for the heat exhangers $400 to $1200+ for the headers |

I bought my setup directly from david at triad. He indicated that he made the headers there at his shop but who knows, maybe they are really eurorace.

It seems to me that at least one of these designs would lend itself to a secondary version...With Heat.
Taking thier headers and developing some mild steel wraps with inlet and oulets like the OE exchangers. If Dave H. can "garage" something together I imagine these guys with thier Manufactureing abilities it should be a breeze? I willing to bet MY $'s the market for those would be crazy (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif) |
