Some of the stuff I got was crap and I need some more...
Most importantly the motor mount for my side shifter conversion. The one I got has rusty broken off studs in it. Anyone around here with parts? I'm in Pasadena and my mechanic is in Marina Del Rey. Willing to drive if I have to. Thanks, Sean |

Sean, if you mean at the ends of the motor mount it should be bolts that go through it. So pound them out and install new bolts as the sideshift bar is bolted directly to the car. The engine mounts are rubber with bolts sticking out of both sides, always used new ones as they are cheap.

I'll give that a try, but the rust is pretty, uh, how do you say, rusty there.
The parts almost look like they were acetylne heated/welded together. |

Sean,
I am in LA, but motor mounts not gots. I do have extra mounts for a Fiat 850 Spider, but I don't think that they'd work for ya'. Sorry about that. You going to this thing on Saturday in Long Beach? - Joe 73 1.7 |

Sean - I have one, it's really dirty. How's $40. (dirt is free (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) )
I live in Santa Clarita and work in Burbank & Studio City. I could bring it to work with me and meet you. Who's your Mechanic? Alex at PreTech? -Mike D. |

Yep, it's Alex. If the mount's in good shape sounds good. I'm gonna see if I can pound out the studs like Geoff said today if not, let's hookup tomorrow. Thanks, Sean Burbank/Studio City is cool. I wanted to go to Ikea anyway! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

I like Alex, He is a good mechanic. He's done alot of great work for me. When ever I meet a 914 guy looking for someone I will always recomend him. Now that he has the 4 wheel alignment set up I can't wait to finish a car and get it over to him.
I'll just go ahead and put it in the trunk tomorrow. -Mike D. |

Mike and/or Sean
What city is Alex in? What's his contact info? It's hard to find someone to trust when you need work done. Please let me know. Thanks, Joe 73 1.7 |

Damn, even I thought everyone knew Mikey lived in Santa Barbara.
Why don't you post some old time pics of the "Rocket" Mike so newbies can see it. Geoff |
