Had a rough and wandering idle. Have heard of several ways to set the TPS to idle and was monkeying with it for a while. Happened to just read in 914 tips, though, that you just set it where, with the key turned to the on position, you hear exactly 20 clicks from the injectors when pressing the throttle. Tried it in the latest position and, what do you know, 20 clicks. Idle wandering just a very little, now. Driving much better. Is it really that simple (is this chore done?)??? Thanks for any thoughts - rex

This is all you need.
http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/9...alibrate_20.jpg The TPS has two contacts that make a simple switch. The switch tells the ECU if the engine is at idle or above idle, so that it can properly control fuel supply . Calibrating the TPS is merely calibrating the idle position. At idle, the swtich is 'open' - infinite ohms. Above idle, the switch is closed and the ECU then performs other calculations to determine fuel supply. |
