My car has that FI harness with the speed limiting "option". The SL module attaches to the battery support piece.

How does this module work? It appears to use the same ECU as a car that does not have this option?

Only speed limiter I am aware of in the 914 was a special rotor, that cut out at a certain rpm. It would open circuit the rotor, preventing spark. I think I would avoid this with a Pertronix ingintion added, as if the Pertronix is operated with no load (ie open circut on high voltage side) it will fry the Pertronix.

What year is your car, and is there a part number or anything on the limiter you have???
