I have had these bumpers for maybe a year. They have been on the Willow Green '72 project.

I decided since that project is on hold (moved from Kansas to Colorado and parts are in storage) I would throw the bumpers on the red '74. It is part of my plan to get the red car closer to a GT look. Flared rockers are the next addition. I have a newly chromed (real chrome) set for the '72 as it should have steel bumpers for a "near" Concours car anyway.

I didn't hate it with painted bumpers - but I always dreamed of a M471 look and this is my inspiration:

Nice, I really like those bumpers.

I talked with Sandy about stopping on the way to the RRC. We may be coming over Thursday the 6th and leaving for Beaver Friday am. We may get to cruise around a little Thursday night. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) Alien meets Wild Child. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

That would be AWESOME! There is a nice drive from Denver to Durango - no Interstate and mountain roads! Then you get to drive the Million Dollar Highway (US 550) up to Grand Junction and across to Beaver from there (I guess that is how you will go?)

We thought about heading west on 160, across 184 to 491 and end up heading north on 191 through Moab. It drops the drive to 6 hrs from Durango to Beaver. Heading over the million dollar highway adds an hour + to the drive. If I weren't coming from half way across the country already and hour would be no big deal. But.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/screwy.gif)

Back on topic, I like the bumpers! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif) How do they compare to the chrome ones you have? In a side by side. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)

It is quicker to go out 160 from here - not as pretty of a drive - but you made that "pretty" drive last year at RRC.

How does the stainless compare to the chrome? One is a lot heavier!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/slap.gif)

Seriously - I think the finish on the stainless is actually VERY GOOD - though I can see some polish tool marks. I bet you can "buff" them out. Plus I can drill for front license plate (did you notice I had them delete the holes for license plate - same for tow hook hole in rear - called the Steve Iverson Special) if I want and no rust where the holes go. I will show you side by side when you get here. I doubt anyone could tell if they weren't side by side though.

I really like the blacked out trim on your car. It makes it look more modern and less classic, but I'm digging on it.

The car has black windshield trim (rubber), black door window trim and black sail panel trim. I have been thinking about going all chrome where I can.

Here is a picture from last year right before I headed to MUSR.

I'll trade you. Much of my chrome is in good shape, windshield surround and 1/4 windows I'm pretty sure are good. Wish you were closer to Denver.

Let me know if you are interested and want to go that route. Be cost effective for both of us.

Thanks for the offer - I have all the shiny parts - just not the time to swap (low priority for me).

Figured it was worth asking! I'll just have to do mine now that I've seen yours!

Looks good (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)! Does anyone here in the States carry those SS bumpers or are they only available from the UK?

Mine came from Harrington. Shipped from Viet Nam - but yes the company is based in UK.

The car used to have red rockers and front/rear valances AND a red roof. I thought it was too much with the red bumpers so the rockers/valance got painted black when I got the WAS saratoga top.
