In cleaning up my trunk to address the rust, I found a number plate on the passenger side on the trunk floor near the taillight, does anyone know what this number is for, and how I can use it to find some history for my car? Also just above that is a small trapozoid shaped plate, with an identical plate on the opposite side in the same exact place. Wondering if these plates are original to the car, or added by a PO?

The number is your chassis number and should match the number printed on the black metal tag on the driver side door pillar that also has the paint code.
The plate is the original reinforcement plate for the rear swaybar mounts. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/popcorn[1].gif) |

I did confirm that the number and plate match, 2659556, is there any way I can get details about that number, I guess maybe COA is the only way? |

I guess maybe COA is the only way? Actually, the search function here is a pretty good way since this has been discussed in detail several times before. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif) |
