The engine's purring [carb rebuild]. The brakes seem to be working [new master cylinder]. Now, its time to replace the rear springs since the car is listing so much to one side the fender is almost touching the tire. What is the best way to get the springs off the rear struts without taking my head off?
Thanks |

The stock spring is pretty much relaxed at the end of the thread travel. You could tie a rope around the coils if you want to play it extra safe. I didn't have to compress my new full height springs to install them.

Thanks. I'm thinking of using 165 progressives. Pros? Cons?

Somebody once told me to use a spare tire/wheel on top of
the perch and sit on it. I did that for the stockers and it worked fine there is not really much force on them when fully extended to the stock perches. Mark S. '70 914-6 |

Rent, buy or borrow the spring compressors. I was replacing the ball joints on a Camero and the spring shot out 25' across the yard and stuck in the fence board.
