I made my second trip out to the Nashville Superspeedway last weekend and drug a co-worker and his Mustang Cobra with me. He drug his wife with him and she brought a video camera. They put a few pictures of my car from the September driving event on their webpage as well as 2 compressed video clips of my 914 comming off of the road course onto the front straight ( the video clips are at the VERY bottom of the page).
http://www.sawyersmotorsports.com/914page.html Had a blast once again. The local driving school has now added some more local courses to its schedule like; Memphis Motorsports Park Road Atlanta Little Talledega Barber Motorsports Park Carolina Motorsports Park I will try and recruit some 914 people that are from the area (*cough* Perry *cough*) into making the trip with me next time out. |

Cool video. Our local sports car club just announced that Rockingham was opening up its' infield road course again, and that we had 2 prime dates reserved in '05. Looking forward to getting out on that 24 degree NASCAR banking!!

I'm up for track time. Too bad I don't have a running teener. I'll be more than happy to help you out with yours though.

QUOTE(seanery @ Nov 16 2004, 02:02 PM) Don, your car sounds nice! Thanks!! The car has been converted to a 2.7 liter six. The engine has 40mm Webbers, 8.5 to 1 pistons, a Solex cam, a mild port and polish, GT racing headers, and a stock 911 muffler. I would guess it is making close to 200 hp at the flywheel. The videos were shot near the end of the day so the lighting isn't great. I also found out that when the stock gas tank gets down to about 1/4 of a tank, the fuel starts to slosh around and miss the pickup which screwed-up my exit onto the front srtaight. Even so, I was able to hit about 125 MPH before slowing for the first corner (probably close to 120 MPH when I pass the video camera). |
