I would like a list of sizes and lengths of the vacuum hoses needed for a '71. I know one vendor has a kit but I'm already placing an order at Pelican and would like to order the hoses as well. So please, 914 masters, what do I need? Thanks, Mark

I beleive the Pelican website has hose diagrams and lists the amount of each sized hose at the bottom of the diagram.

The sizes on the pelican diagram don't seem to match up with what they are selling n their catalog.

Here's some previous talk on this subject. You're lucky that I'm home sick with the flu and had some time to search for it. Hope this helps, IMHO I would just get the AA kit. Good Luck!

This might be helpful:

Mr. Bowlsby has great diagrams on his site here:

http://bowlsby.net/914/Classic/zTN_FI_Hose....7L_1970-71.jpg

I have a 1971 1.7 liter and replaced my vacuum cables two years ago. I bought all the hoses I needed from McMaster-Carr with high grade tubing in different color and diameter. I also found at the same time that my engine was from a 1973 and so none of the diagrams seemed exactly right. Once I head my head around the diagrams, it became apparent where each hose needed to go.

If these diagrams listed in the above links don't look like what you have, then snap some photos and post them here so we can have a look.

I ordered hoses from Pelican. I'll report back on what was needed. Thanks everyone (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
