I recall a rubber seal between the dash and the glass. I didn't see it on The 914 rubber site. Am I crAzy?

I couldn't comment on your sanity but, yes there is a rubber seal. When I got mine from AA (yeah, I know), you could get one that had to be glued on or one with a metal slot that could be crimped on.
