headlights come on fine, but when I turn the knob all the way to the left(?) the fuse blew for the dash lights

sign of switch going bad??

Switch to the left turns the dash lights off (or very low), The reostat on back of the switch could be shorted out.

knob to right lights bright ( sorry it came out like that )

if not them i would say hot wire on wrong terminal of switch and maybe bad bulb in a gauge

if yes i agree with vsg 914
