I would like to see pictures of a car (actually I'd like to see one in person) with the A.I.R. SCCA GT2 body (flare) kit outside of those that are shown on their site. (Or) Is there anyone here in SoCal that has a car with this kit that I could see? Is anyone perhaps going to any track days at Willow (or The Streets) anytime soon with their car, as Willow is a reasonable drive for me. I'd really appreciate the opportunity to view a car with this (flare) kit. I posted a similar request over at Pellican.
http://www.americaninternationalracing.com/ Go to Vintage, 914. The kit is the #83 (orange) and # 217 (purple) cars. Thanks, Andy |

how are you using the car, full track?
I've seen these in person and can be nice looking. There is a badass 2.8 914 running this bodywork on the left coast and midwest. His car is capable of outright enduro or sprint wins and there is enough room for big rubber for him. |

They don't look familiar to me Andy. I will be working all weekend during the POC Tribute to Le Mans event, and will keep an eye out. I will have my digicam and DV camcorder handy...as long as my batteries hold up.

There will probably be at least one at the Tribute to Le Mans at Willow on the 31st.

My friend bought an AIR kit like that from Brad. He's planning a 928 conversion.

QUOTE(andys @ May 21 2003, 12:48 PM) http://www.americaninternationalracing.com/ Go to Vintage, 914. The kit is the #83 (orange) and # 217 (purple) cars. The Orange #83 914 used to belong to Art Seeger, who lives here in Modesto. But, he sold his race car a year or two ago to someone in PCA, GGR. The only thing I don't like about the kit is the Front Fenders, I'd rather see the FF be smooth, instead of trying to follow the lines of the original bodywork. |

Wow, what a response! Thanks guys. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)
Ok, so Big Willow it is, as long as there's a good chance one of these cars will show. What is the best day to go, Sat. or Sun? I would guess Sat. , since it appears to be a nite race. Anyone on this forum going to be there? Thanks agin, Andy |

Saturday afternoon/night is the big event (4 hour enduro). There are typically not very many 914's running in that race, but you will see lots of them parked in the paddock.
Check this thread re. who's going -- http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?act...t=ST&f=2&t=2146 |

Do you think there'll be more 914's (possibly with the AIR kit) at the preceeding weekends' (oops, that's this comming weekend) POC meet at The Streets? Andy |

Very doubtful. Most of the bigger 914s don't show up to the Short Track (Streets) events anymore. There are usually about 5-7 914's at the Streets events but most are stock bodied, GT flared or Chalon bodies and not the huge AIR or Sheridan kits.

Andy [/quote] Well brad said 4 posts up that "Oh.. Dave Evans will be there with the Purple 9146 race car (AIR)... Tribute that is." So ya. Saturday evening. I've seen the purple car a few times. I really like this kit.. but you need some major rubber to fill those fenders. -Aaron G. |

I have always loved the body lines of a 914.. the AIR kit doesnt even come close to using the OE line (which is why they are not legal in SCCA GT2)

I'm with Brad. There are other body's that stay closer to the classic lines.
