Just FYI, this is a duplicate thread:
http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?sho...p;hl=pikes+peak I do think he shows his colors by kicking the car... Never lift as you go over a bump in a corner... Glad he is OK |

Not the car's fault, but I can certainly understand his frustration. I am glad to see how well the car protected the driver in this crash, but it may take a bit more work than a simple Buff out! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

There was the guy with a camera in the beginning, in the plaid shirt. too close to the road that might have spooked him and cause him to flinch.

Wow! I am glad his car was well prepared and he is okay. A side note...people are crazy...did you see the guy that probably distracted the driver...he was at the ~apex taken photos R If you start and stop the video were that guy was at, the car was inside the white line running the edge of the asphalt. He misses the guy and it looks like he flinched when he passes the guy. He immediately difted out side of the white line and appears to be lossing the rear. From that point on he's fighting it, he's letting off throttle and counter steers hopelessly. |

I too am glad the driver is ok but it's a bit scary to think about wrecking one of our cars after seeing that. Granted, a bolder is not very forgiving but neither is a head on collision. His car prettty much folded right up in the front. That rollcage really did its' job protecting the driver.

That is a unique engine cooling setup he has with the air intake through the passenger compartment. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)
I assume that got welded up at some point after the picture was taken... |

The car is called "The Killer Bee".... Very, very, very nearly lived upto it's name (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)
Pikes Peak reminds me of group B rallying of teh 80's - Spectators after an adrenalin rush getting in the way and if not restrained will cause the end of PP as they did group B rallying (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) |

You don't weld up the access hole - you put a panel over that area and it's not for cooling. Having the access hole gives you access to putting on a Fan Belt easily - in that big of one, you could probably replace the alternator as well |
