I am figuring I got the banana for $400 and the 928 for $1000 and have most of the other stuff to do this and you can sell off parts of what you have to get funds..... I think I could do a 928 powered Chalon and be within thier money requirements (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Should I go for it and hold off on the racer for now. any thoughts

Well, the racer is strictly that, a race car, cant drive it on the street thereby limiting seat time. I would do the Chalon just so I could drive it on the street. Besides, you would have the only Chalon with a Porsche V8. Even more rare than the Alien.

The GRM challenge is pretty cool,
Review the competitions they judge you on & your competition. 3 Race classes (Circuit, slalom & 1/4 mile drag) plus a concours type thing.

Previous winning competitors have run 9 sec quarters & we're pretty nippy on the circuit. I helped a friend of a friend build a gen 2 rx7 & had a ball but came way down the order. I heard there we're a few 914's running but none made top 10.

Ohh there's a limit on freebies & what you can recoup in selling from the car.

If you do decide to give it a try you could 'sell' the extra parts in the classifieds here. We would be happy to support your effort and give you a 'fair price' for them. (wink - wink) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool_shades.gif)
