a friend sent me this pic and asked if I would know anything about it
to be honest, I've never seen, read or heared about this one before

This looks more like it was build on a Boxster, not a 914 ...

I think they're going for a later-day Jaguar XK-13?

It looks like a variation on the Jaguar X12 (not sure about the model) that was a racing exercise at the end of the XKE series... I've seen pics of it but can't nail it down right now. Nice lines!

I've got some other pictures of it at home and who it was built by (West Coast USA). Definately built on a 914.

That Picture that Wolfgang posted came out of an issue of Panomera (probably 8-10 years ago)

I used to get a lot of glass from Mark. That kinda confirmed my Getty link suspicion. Mark would occasionally have various bits for sale in the back of Pano as a private sale in Pano. They were really good quality. I got all my RS pieces from him and the hoods for my 914 from him.
