First ever in my 914, doing 58 in a 40.

Burbank's finest pulled me over in the parking lot of my office this morning, for all my co-workers to see.

Three story office and I've heard about it from people on all 3 floors. They made me into some sort of celebrity this morning!

Guess I ought to put in that new speedo cable this weekend. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif)

When me and james were dating several years ago, his speedometer on his 914 was out. He told me "I think that I am able to tell what the speed limit is, if you could follow me in your car to make sure I am correct" So I follow him onto the freeway and off he went, I lost him at 65, couldn't keep up in my Geo. He must've been going like 80 in a 55.

75 - 80 is a nice speed, and good for accelerating, too.

Makes short work of the trip to Seattle and back.. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif)

The officer didn't think so. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/dry.gif)

Only excuse I could think of at the time. I don't think it would have gone over well with him if he asked me why I was speeding and I said "Because I like it!" (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/MDB2.gif)

Haha! That'll be my next excuse!

But i've yet to be pulled over... *knocks on wood* (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/headbang.gif)

(Now to thread hijack)

Anyone know how hard it is to 'fix' the speedo and odometer gears in your speedo? I have a working speedo replacement, but the Odometer on it is busted... sure, it's keeping my insurance rates down... but still (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)
