QUOTE I am in the process of installing my rings and came across this article. Rings on what pistons? KB hypereutectic pistons? Yes, using Hasting rings From where? EMW Were there instructions in the box? NO I looked up the KB pistons installation instructions and the ring gap should be { Bore x .0065} , so for my 96mm pistons I went with .025 2nd ring should go at .016, oil rings same. They want a larger end gap on the top ring. there have been cases of them tearing the top land off if the top ring gap is too tight. See attachment. kb_installation.pdf ( 1.73mb ) Number of downloads: 254 if you need details about the rings I can also supply that. |
