The engine is sold and I really don't want another project. So, with that in mind I am offering an excellent body with all the conversion parts INCLUDING a complete 2.4L European 911T engine that is at scottyb's shop in Virginia.
The car is a super solid '72 from California and all the work has already been done for the 6 conversion. The buyer of the engine only wanted the engine...so, the real 914/6 oil tank, headers, engine tins, engine mount, carb linkage, clutch linkage, shift rod, transaxle, rebuilt tachometer, custom triple gauge, etc. stay in place. All you need to do (I smile as I say this) is install the engine in the car and start driving. The engine is of unknown provenance and turns over by hand but neither scottyb nor I know the condition of the engine...so a rebuild (or at least a top end rebuild) is probably in order. Price is $10K. Bear in mind that you are starting with an excellent condition car that already has the hard work done. The car will be available around October 1. I can meet the buyer at scottyb's place where you can get the car and the engine or I will bring the engine to SC and you can pick everything up here. No, I will not install the engine, rebuild the engine, etc. If I did that the price would effectively double and you would be deprived of the pleasure of putting the car together! Based on a couple emails/PM's I have received let me emphasize the following:
1. The car looks EXACTLY like ebay ad. The car is currently running and driving. The engine has not yet been pulled 2. There is nothing wrong with the car. The engine is a verified 1965 engine and is worth much more than the car itself. The engine is going to a '65 911 under restoration. That is why the engine is being sold 3. The buyer of the engine only wants the engine...everything else (as I listed) stays with the car. 4. To get the car on the road again the ONLY thing you will need is to go through the 2.4L (?) engine and install it. The engine is complete with carbs and air cleaner. You will use the 914/6 exhaust, engine tins, throttle and clutch linkages, transaxle/modified shift rod, oil tank, etc. included with the car. I hope this clarifies things. |

My buddy Tom needs to buy this Bill. Hopefully he will PM you as I just saw this & sent him a message. Sounds good. I've got several people close to committing to buy. First one with the cash gets it! As anyone with conversion experience knows, it would take over $10K to get a 914 to this condition with these 914/6 parts not even counting the engine (which is basically being included for free)! |

Car will be available until the engine is pulled (end of the month). Look up auction 221520741564 on ebay. Original auction is still out there. Thanks, Bill |

No... the part about tire kickers and no one committed! My offer considered the Zeniths instead of Webers. If the other engine had Webers I would have gone with the $10K asking price.

Well...making an offer and committing are two different things! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) However, I do appreciate your offer. |
