I missed this thread. I've been out in the shop building parts for the German 8 Tor. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/assimilate.gif) Just got a call from the engine balancer. (hey Larry!) The flywheel is ready! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/monkeydance.gif) My balancer guy said it was almost perfect as it was. Kind of lucky considering all the bolts had to be ground to length. He said I got them in the right place. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif) The picture of my car in the snow is old. Notice the Ansa muffler. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/cool_shades.gif) I call it a porschcsicle. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/lol2.gif) The car is safe inside the shop. I haven't done anything to it this winter. I'm planning on repairing the body damage and cleaning the car up before the long trip to the WCC 05. Time and money issue this winter. The engine rebuild and other stuff will have to wait until I sell the 59 MGA, 95 M3, 76 2002, and or 54 Austin Healey 100-4. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/confused24.gif) It still runs and drives as a test mule and it's still on the top of the cool chart in my book. Attached image(s) |

Great news about the flywheel. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif) Im preping the Jetta for the drive today. I do the oil change with one of the oil suckers and pull it out the dipstick tube. The way the TDI is made I can change oil with out getting under the car this way. With the luck Ive had with screws and bolts as of late I would be scared of a drain plug (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/lol2.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/lol2.gif) |
