Just checked the auction results of the Scottsdale happening.
Lot#332 a 1971, 914, 2.0, "custom" $14,580 plus 8% paid by the buyer. What was this guy buying besides red and black? He most likely got caught up in the auction frenzy. Lot#29 a 1975, 914 2.0 track set-up $4,644 plus 8%. In my opinion, this might be a good buy. Azbill |

Barrett-Jackson is very picky when deciding what they will allow to be auctioned.
They screen out the junk and try to get the cream of the crop, that is partly why the prices seem elevated. |

Much of the serious car collector world looks at this auction to set values. Very few of the cars are daily drivers, most are museum pieces or garage queens. You would expect them to bring higher values.

Is it me or they seem to sell only Chevrolet this year .
Every time I switch to speed they either have a $100K Belair that you can't even drive or a $70K Camaro. Do they keep the exotics for sunday ? |

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif) I never have understood the idea that because a car has belonged to someone famous,or been on a tv show or movie,it is somehow MAGICALLY better than any other of the same condition. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/confused24.gif) If you suddenly had all of Elvis' powers then maybe............ (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smoke.gif) |

OH that hurts, just sold my 21 window project for $2500. Needed a ton of work and I needed the room. I know I will regret it, every time I see one it just makes me sad. |

Just remembered the 1200hp Vette that sold while I was watching last night. They said the guy had close to $250,000 into it and it sold for somewhere around $60K (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif)
Prolly some guy that just likes projects. On to the next one. |
