Alice's is a classic. Those inclined can run along Skyline or down to the ocean, as well.

Mil's Diner or the Black Bear in Milpitas may be options. Calaveras gets kind of fun once you get out of town, and you can run it all the way up to Sunol.

Or heck, we could even go back to the IHOP on Stevens Creek like way way back when!

Those are my suggestions.
