if you guys figure this out, let me know.
I have a 1.7. going to a 2.2L build and trying to figure out how to engage an old style gauge (wide band on hot) to mate with this engine as stock. I have tried two new sensors, two NOS gauges, rewired with various wire-gauges, checked ground, checked ground again - all other gauges (clock, Volt work), new taco plate, two senders from AA , new everything, lost a seventh wife in the process ( a 993S-96) in the meantime, and the friggin gauge reads slightly over left-needle cold / every time. I just rant the little twerp at 90+ to Phoenix non-stop (because a 1.7 on a full tank will make that run no prob) just to warm it up!!! the starter failed, but the gauge indicated everything was cool...............
