I had no idea that this existed, or that Porsche would have allowed it. A 1972 Wankel-engined Vette prototype was based on a 914 chassis. I'm not sure I like the design but it is a fascinating piece of history.

Cool joint project!
Now that I see this pic, I recall seeing it in MT or R&T back then! It was one more eye candy for a starving college student, dreaming of what I might get after graduation & in a good job! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/drooley.gif) Porsche consulted on many prototypes & models for many other mfgrs - both then & now! |

At least it still exists. You may be able to contact the current owner and see if he can find a Porsche VIN, it might have been stripped when GM sent it Pininfarina and replaced with a GM prototype number.
