This is a car I've had for 7 years now. I bought it to fix up and play with as in the 80's I really wanted one. But the kit was $5000!
More than I paid for my pristine 73 Appearance Group 2.0. So after letting it sit for way too long I pulled it out did the brakes and got it running. James helped me to rebuild the front end and it was quite a job. Even to get it to the point I sent it to James we had to have some panels aligned as the original installer did a sub par job on some of it. My nephew needed a senior class project and talked me into letting him play with the car. He just shot it tonight. I was impressed with the work even in primer. I think he's hooked now. Gonna see what these look like on it.
There was a member here that mounted these on his. I feel that if, I'm going this far away from stock, might as well throw some more fuel on the fire! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif) Attached image(s) |

I'm not 100% sure It was supposed to be a bright orange. It's bright alright. But in the booth looks more like Ferrari Red.

I had one of those 914s on consignment many years ago. It was constructed in California, purchased by one of Dan Hanna's sons.
I took it to the Portland swap meet. A rather large fellow fell in love with the car and had to have it. He ended up trading me a 25 bucket T hot rod, which had its own trailer. I ended up selling the T to a fellow who drove up from Sacramento, on one of Oregons wettest days, he hooked it up and took off. Craig at CAMP Attached image(s) |

Looks a bit more red than Hugger orange. Maybe Guards Red?
Here is the hugger orange still in my garage drying (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads/post-172-1305529734_thumb.jpg) And here it is in various lights (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/i719.photobucket.com-626-1307840091.1.jpg) |
