I can't help but notice that all the great deals are always too far away from me, even the 914 I just bought was a 3 hour and 15 minute drive from me. The total trip to purchase my current car took just a hair over 11 hours. While surfing the ebay wave for parts, I found this gem. It's getting about 34 views an hour so someone is going to pick it up, sadly it won't be me. Deals like this never pop up on my little island of Alameda. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

I don't know if this a deal. New York car, salt on the roads. Homemade battery tray/holder. Front trunk seal is completely missing. Right exchanger is completely gone.

You would think they would take time to vacuum the car and hide the wires before taking a picture.

Ny car, so definitely rust, but if you look in the California Bay Area where I live, the planets biggest steaming piles are going for that amount. I looked at 5 before I bought the one that I have now, all in this price range, and some without engines and/or transmissions.

Looks like a $1500 car to me.

At best.

For $1250 more, this is 5X the car - http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showtopic=260672

The premium you may pay here will be worth it in the rust repair savings.

It balances out. You can buy one for $2000.00 and spend $10,000.00 on rust repair. Or you can spend $12,000.00 and you don't have to go through that. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/welder.gif)

This thread is just a bit of humor, right? I'd give anything to be 3 hours from a decent 914. Every nice 914 I come across is for sale in CA. The distance for me isn't a few hours, but a couple thousand miles. Why are you looking at anything from NY??? Let alone some rusted out car from NY???
This one looks like a great deal at $6K, and it's in your home state.
