Alex over at Precision Tech in Marina Del Rey just did me a solid. I took my car to him because I thought I needed a valve adjustment. The car had been running poorly, and was popping on over run. Now, given the weather we have had here in SoCal, I haven't driven the car that much in the last three months, so I did not really notice that it was louder than normal. Turns out it was a small exhaust leak that was fixed by tightening the bolts on the exhaust. I realize that this may not be the end of this problem with the exhaust, but Alex tightened them up in about 1o mins and did it for free.
So if you are looking for a good guy to help you with your car, send me a PM and I'll send you Alex's number. |

You serious? Is it a race prepped one? I think I saw it in the right bay in the right back corner. He has a 72 911 there with a 3.2 in it that was SWWWEEEEETTTT!!! |

his is in there, too. It's blue as well and has numbers and a sheridan SCCA rear spoiler. Mine doesn't have any #s and no spoiler. 6" fuchs narrow body, probably filthy dirty! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif)
It's not the green targa is it? |

Hmmm... Green Targa... Me like... Me like!!! Yeah, well, I think I saw yours, but I was staring at that targa alot. It was really nice. I owe Alex a present, so I need to swing by there tomorrow. He has to move soon, so you might want to touch base with him. |

yeah, I knew they were tearing that thing down to build more condos. I keep telling him about this place, I wish he'd stop in. Hell, I even sent him a bunch of hats for Christmas.

Alex prefers to stay towards the coast of L.A. as his customer base is there. Problem is the cost sq./ ft. is outrageous around there. There are some good independent P shops in that area...Alex's and Otto's are cool (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) !

I'm curious where he's gonna end up. He bought a new house about 3 or 4 years ago and I half wondered if he'd move the shop there.

We were talking about where he was gonna end up. He has a place in Venice, but there are space issues with it that he needs to work out. He's got a lot of stuff to move. Ain't gonna be pretty.

I used to live in Redondo Beach. He's been busy and I haven't been in a hurry to get it.
Whenever he's ready to get it out of his shop I'll go get it. Or, next time I live/visit in LA I'll get it. |

From what he said, they need to be otta there by then end of the month. He thinks that they might get an extra month too.
If you need a place to drop the car for a bit, I can take it. I am in Westchester, it will be outside but I can cover it. Just let me know. |

I need to know this guy. The eggplant was worked on by him in the past. In fact it has his license plate frame on it...
(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) My office is probably 2 miles from his shop now. Isn't he right off the Marina xpressway? |
