okay todays progress

1: made new shifter bar, the reason i made a new one was i tried to bend the stock one to many times, basicly needed the bends in it to be 90 degres from where they where. instead of just cutting and rewelding i tried to bend it. had to make a new one.

2: finished modifing the exhaust manifold and welded on 2 stub pipes, to make the header. and welded 2 o2 sensor bungs into header.

tommarrows plans are hook up the following clutch cable, throttle cable, speedo cable, install shifter bar, hook up cv joints, and fill tranny

then i need to straighten the garage so the car can come out to play

still need to bolt in alt, hook up alt, tape up harness, hook up reverse lights, finish bolting in the radiator and make the scoop for the radiator, and finish exhaust ( still need muffler or maybe not (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/happy11.gif) )

so i am thinking that it might be moving under its own power on thursday, not road ready yet but around the storage lot.

edit : pics after the cables are hooked up

well lets just say its not bad at idle, but at 3k rpms stand back, way back and dont even try to talk to anyone even yourself. i would love to make it sound like it does at 3k but quieter, very throaty, sounds like a v8 at 1500 rpm ( duh )

if you read the top it says i still need a muffler, i think i am going to do a dual in dual out

I you want a close to stock look....I have an extra Leistritz dual in single out s/s muffler...it can be opened up and made to sport muffler or kept as is....150 bucks plus shipping....

Any competent welder can do a sport modification....

Nice, I was going to say I would bet its pretty loud with just a straight pipe coming out. It would get attention to say the least.

I don't know if you're up for spending the kind of dough it would require just to cut it up (you could probably gte one cheaper on eBay), but a WRX with aftermarket exhausts sounds BAD-ASS! Maybe cut it off right behind the resonator and attach that to your headers or something. JMO. I dunno if you'd want the 4" exhaust tip out the back, but take it from me, EJ20Ts with exhaust sound awesome! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wub.gif)
