Are there statistics of how many of each model were built?
So how many 1973 2.0 liter cars were built?

It's really too hard to click on a link on that very same page?

http://www.914world.com/specs/productionnumbers.php
NOTE: The production numbers listed in that link are not MY (Model Year) but actual year the chassis were build.

Which is why you have '69 in there but no '76 ...

Ok, that helps. Are the 2.0L motors found within a range of VINs ?

Nope. The only way to correlate VIN to engine size is to get a Certificate of Authenticity. Or the original sales info. Or see if the original stickers are in the engine bay.

Thanks. Seller is the original purchaser, I'll see what he has

I thought maybe all the 47292xxxx vins might be late '73 cars and have the larger motor

***Correction: 473292xxxx

If it has a center console, 73's had a one-year-only temp gauge with a larger red area. Also, it had bumper guards on the front bumper only, not on the rear.

That vin prefix is a 72
Which would be a 1.7
