Got a set of new door panel clips from 914 Rubber and started to replace my broken ones.

Problem is getting the old ones out. They don't want to twist out and I'm afraid of wrecking the holes.

How do they come out safely ?

I use a pair of side cutters (diagonal pliers).

I did that on one. Problem is the back side ( between the fiberglass and upholstery ) won't come out

And, are the rubber inserts that go into the holes in the door required Z.
