Hi Jim: No empty Trans-case, but I built test stand too. Made it modular so it breaks down and stores easily. Here is my current motor on the stand ready to fire it up on Saturday.
Used an old wiring harness and instrument cluster and EPU out of a '72 and stripped out the non-essentails. Put in a switch on the control panel to toggle my fuel pump on or off.
Took me about 8 hours to fabricate it:

Hey Jim -- I've got a spare tranny sitting in my garage. At some point I suppose I'll need it, but you can certainly borrow it indefinitely. You/we can take the gear stack out if that will help make it lighter, and at some point I was going to send it to Dr. Evil.

You know where I am.
