AX pressures for 205/50/15 Yoko A032R Softs Options

I have recently moved from Falkens to Yokohama A032R softs on 5.5 wheels. In my last AX I ran 35 psi all the way around. What are others running with these tires?

I run 2 psi lower in the front of whatever I do.

I have been running 37 psi on my Kumho Ecsta V700 on 4 lug fuchs. 35 and the sidewalls roll.
As you can see from my post today I am fully loading the tires and suspension. car seems pretty nuetral to slight push.
Depends on how much tire roll you are getting. I know I am pinching my kumhos a bit with the narrow rim so higher pressures to prevent tire roll over.

I'm running 225/50/16 & 245/45/16 a032r tires on 16 x 8 et23 & 16 x 9 et2 wheels for track events.

35 psi is way to high. They feel skittish and greasy.

I'm running 27-29 psi.

Do 16's and wide wheels need that much less pressure.

my car weighs in about 2050lbs wet with a 2.7/Webers.

I'd heard from the tire Company I deal with that the closer to the maximum PSI rating your tires are the better the traction because it puts more of the tires tread on the ground. Lower PSI and the tire tends to cup or the center tread raises. Too high & the center of the tread pushes out further so you lose the outside tread's traction.

Sounds like a good balance of tread on the ground is what is best for traction but finding that might be easier said than done (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif)

I run 26 front & 30 rear in the Nitto's. Great for street but AXing they lack stickage (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/dry.gif)

I imagine tires temps will tell.
Also this is against all popular notions. for the end that slips add more air. If it grips too much take out air.

R compound tires run much lower pressures than strictly street compound. If you bought them from tire rack you can get advise from them or contact Yoko... I think I would start them in the high 20s more up front then in back. Unless your running the Zone 7 event this weekend then you need 50psi front and 22psi rear... They said start at 35psi.
A032r's ( soft ) are supposed to heat up quick as they are specifically designed for a/x and track.

Its funny I started real high at 38 to 40 PSi similar to what I ran in the Falkens and the Yoko's just didnt seem to be right to me. I lowered to 35 psi and I didnt get nearly the sideway flex I got with the Falkens. I noticed my car was pushing a little during Sacratmento so I decided to go 35 on all 4 rather than soften my front koni's.

Its been interesting for me to get use to r compound tires. My first AX on the Yoko's (Marina) I wasnt driving the tire to its maximum grip. I was use to the grip of my Falkens. So corners where the falkens would break into a predictable drift the yoko's just stuck.

Then when I went to Sac Valley I went opposite extreme and spun the car becuase I got too confident. Guess I had to do that to figure out the limit of the tire!

I just want to make sure I'm not missing something by going with even lower pressures. I dont like fiddling with pressures at an event much. I pretty much dial in and work with what I have.
