Are all 914 computers the same?
Will a 76/2.0 run as well with a 74/2.0 computer?
Will a l/jet car run with a computer from a d/jet car and vise versa?
Will a 1.7 run with a 2.0 computer and vise versa?
Inquiring minds want to know.

While the 75/76 ECU will run a 73/74, it'll be really lean. I would think it would also be a mismatch the other way around, as well. There are 2 different 1.7 ECU (maybe more), and they might run a 2 litre, but they're supposed to be matched to the throttle switch and MPS, so they might not. L-jet uses both a different ECU and a different plug, and it not only can't be plugged in, but it wouldn't run the system because it operates in a completely different way (and vice versa). The Cap'n

76 with a miss that only happens every 1-2 miles. .25 sec cycle.
Checked all the obvious stuff, twice.
Changed to a ecu from a 74 , problem gone.
Now I seem to be down a bit on power and the engine isnt as "snappy".
We adjusted the f/a mixand once again check all else, still down on power.
Shoot ,now I need to find a 76 ecu (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/bs.gif)

Unless someone knows a remedy (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wacko.gif)
S'cuse me while I go drink.

If I were a betting man (which I am) I bet a 75 2.0 ECU would be the same as a 76.

I'll keep my eyes on the look out JT, I have a few ECU's all d-jet but not sure what they are out of.

1.7's are all basically the same
1.7/2.0L 73 ECUs are the same but the 2.0L uses a special MPS
2.0L 74,75,76 are basically the same and use the same MPS

No over run circut on the 74 ecu, also one less
speed control circut. Is this why the car seems to be down on power?
