I have AN-12 fittings at the four connection points for the two hoses.

What degree fittings are needed at each connection? I am going to buy the fittings and hose to make my own hoses. I will need to test fit the engine to get the correct length of each hose.

IIRC
- 0 Deg for the lower tank
- 45 Deg for the Upper tank
- 90 For the engine block
- 45 Deg for the oil cooler (I have a AN-12 90 Deg welded to the OEM cooler)

Cheers and any sources for the above would be cool too (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/beerchug.gif)

BAT Inc. (MOCAL) or Pegasus for the fittings. Unless you have an AN tank, you will need adapters from Porsche 30mm to -12AN.

Summit for Earl's fittings and hose.

the line from the tank to the pressure pump (the one that attaches to the bottom of the cooler) can see a substantial suction and must not be allowed to kink, and should be internally supported. Earl's has long spring internal hose supports that make it virtually impossible for the vacuum to suck the inner liner of the hose closed.

I'll check those vendors.

Summit or Racers Warehouse (Wholesale?) for fittings & hose.
For the attachment at the oil cooler, a straight ought to do it (if your attachment points straight forward.)

At the scavenge side (on the pass side), I ran a 90 deg aft then looped it around 180 deg & ran fwd. It gets "busy" trying to go fwd at the scavenge fitting....and don't use "hard" 90 deg fittings. Here's a "soft" 90 deg jobbie at the scavenge side.

Edit: eewww, that's an "Andy" pic. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif)

If you have any 911 oil lines....the 30mm can be used and a new hose can be installed with an AN on the other side by most hydraulic shops.

On the bottom line to the cooler, I used a 30mm on the tank, a slip on and clamps for the cooler. Off the engine I used the adapter....same with the line on the tank that is in the engine bay.

The hose that came with the engine does have the OEM metric fitting (90 Deg)on it but the other end was cut.

I wasn't sure if a AN fitting could be attaced to the original hose or if the original fitting could be re-attached to new AN hose.

I called on local hose shop and they didn't do AN stuff.

Keep checking around....AN is very popular. Try a hot rod boat shop.

Stock tank but the PO of the tank had adapter fittings made (They appear to be fab'd up).

My oil cooler mod has a 90 deg AN-12 welded on.

Seems like fittings are about $25/each.

Cheers

Here's were I got all my fittings from.
http://www.musclemotorsports.com/aeroquip-...ine---ftgs.html

At the time they were about half price. Dont know how prices compare now.

It was good service too.

And I got my adapters from the locals...pegasusracing

Looking for ball park lenghts so I can place my order this week

Will a 24" piece work for the pump suction line?
Will a 48" piece work for the higher pressure side?

Cheers

i can't really help you on lengths, other than my approach is to get a too-long piece and cut to fit...

but just to clarify -- neither of the oil lines sees anything like gallery pressure - there is no "high pressure side"

the inlet to the pressure pump can see some suction, but the outlet from the engine to the tank is scavenge oil and doesn't (typically) see ultra high pressures. it does have a lot of entrained air, which can cause some shock as the bubbles compress, but there isn't really anything in the circuit to raise the pressure - with the possible exception of trying to run a front cooler with no thermostat. trying to force thick, cold oil through a cooler can produce excessive pressure. otherwise, the scavenge pump is simply a transfer pump, running foamy oil up from the engine through the filter to the tank for de-aeration and collection.

Thanks.

I am hoping that someone has BTDT and knows that X" will work. If I can buy 4' and not 6' and still be on th elong side, it's just savings in my pocket (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif)

Ya, I knew it wasn't HIGH pressure but just highER pressure..That's just my line of work comming out.

Thanks again
