the plaids were used in the final two years of production to brighten up the interior. Unfortunately the material was inferior and started to dry rot from UV rays from the day it was put on the dealer lot. The "stuff" has now been duplicated in a much tougher material and really highlights the interiorAttached Image Attached Image

I had a 75 scirocco with orange plaid seats. They were a little faded, but probably not as noteceable as the red. Loved that car!!
