My car had a sequential Hewland gearbox when I got it. I found that unless you were driving ballz out like this guy it wasn't much fun, I swapped it out for a 901.

Race boxes are generally not very usable on the street for day to day driving. Sequential boxes, dog-boxes (dog-ring engagement, clutchless upshifts!) and the like have too many downsides when not driving all-out.

The dog-boxes crunch like a 914 with no clutch tube at all, for instance... Freaked me out the first time I shifted one into first!

I've run dog boxes in many street cars, not that bad if you get used to driving them. Although the engagement dogs do wear a bit faster than syncros.

Sequential box would be fun in a race car but a total pain on the street.
