I just got an email from Pelican telling me the left and right air hoses I ordered are NLA. A little strange since they claimed to have one of them in stock when I ordered. Anyway, these are the hoses from the air control boxes to the side vents on late model cars. The ones that get so brittle they rarely survive removal from the car. Part #'s are:

914-572-109-10
Genuine Porsche Part: HOT AIR TUBE

914-572-110-10
Genuine Porsche BREATHER HOSE

Anyone know where to get them or a good substitute? I didn't see them on 914Rubber's site. They are smaller diameter than the other hoses they sell.

Looks like 2" or 51mm. I found some stuff similar to what 914Rubber sells. Also found this site that looks like they may have something that would be a dead ringer for the OEM stuff. Wholesale quantities only but maybe some vendors would be interested...

Looks like the stuff I get from SSF. It’s sold in 4 or 5’ lengths. I’ll check sizing and costs tomorrow when I’m at the shop - doing your carbs.

VW Beetle used the same small hose. Check VW stuff. URO makes the larger hose, not sure about the small one.

Brilliant! Switching to a Volkswagen search, lots of sources pop up. Most are supplying black outer color but a few have the OEM German stuff. Found the best price at CIP1. I think I'll try to source the lager diameter stuff too while I'm at it.

Also looking at AA to source both hose sizes (thanks @FlacaProductions ), but as is often the case, the product descriptions are confusing as hell. Check the example below. What the hell size is this particular part and is it enough to do only one side or both? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

Brent,

What are you talking about? It's all very clear. There are two sizes: 2.25 and 2.0 and "one hose length will replace one side" and "one length does both sides."

Hope that helps... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/av-943.gif)

@bbrock

@mikey914 at 914 Rubber has them, but they were not previously listed on the website nor included in the rebuild kit. Product description is a little sketchy too as they are dash vent hoses and have nothing to do with defroster vents.

I went throught the same search and found a lot of similar hoses, but not the correct 50mm ones.

Good to know. I just ordered the tan 50mm URO hose off ebay. I'll probably follow up to replace my 60mm 914Rubber hoses for that stock look. It's a sickness. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon8.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

WE do not sell the paper aluminum. Yes you can buy it cheap from many sources.
We provide an aircraft quality vent hose as well as the high temp. Not completely concourse, but these are more durable.

More easily found on the new site searching "Hose"

https://900designs-container.zoeysite.com/search/?q=hose

Also we added in part numbers with descriptions.
Searching the drawings is another way.

https://900designs-container.zoeysite.com/9...ilation-heating

We even make the bulkhead seal for the long to blower hose (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Yes easier to sell when it's all listed up nice. We have lots of new parts my guys don't even have listed yet.
Maybe I should slow down (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

Naaahhh, I'll keep going (IMG:style_emoticons/default/stirthepot.gif)

Quick follow up. Got the URO hose I ordered on ebay (911 211 274 00: 50 x 720mm (Tan)) This one hose was enough to do both sides. There's no question that for durability, Mark's aircraft hoses rule, but for a reproduction of the original hose, this fit the bill nicely.

One last post to finish this out. I decided to swap out the 60mm hoses for the URO ones. The 914Rubber hoses are way more durable than the original or repro paper/foil hoses, and they are easier to install. I've discovered I have a bit more "weanie" in me than I thought though so wanted the original look.

As with the 50mm hose, this 60mm hose is a nice reproduction of the original. Here is the new hose next to some of my stained and dirty originals.

Attached Image

Unfortunately, I screwed up my measuring and ordered too short of a hose for all four pieces needed. That was an expensive mistake as it's going to cost me about $20 extra over what the right length hose would have cost. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) It you decide to do this, you want the longest (1500mm) posted by @UROpartsman a few posts above. Screw-up aside, I think what I've been able to install dresses out the bulkhead area nicely.
