Replacing my front brake pads. My Bosch replacement pads (BP31 Quietcast) came with a backing plate the same size as the back of the pad that clips onto the back of the pad. I'm not talking about the 20 degree angle clip that comes with the pads to be - those need to be used. My old brake pads did not have this backing plate. Do I use them or toss them?

Might be an anti-squeel shim? Use it.
